Yellowwood FAQ

1.

Can I use my own plans ?

Yes of course you can. Yellowwood Building Group are a custom home builder and can build any home whether it be your plan or ours so long as your plans copyright doesn’t belong to someone else.

Are you a registered builder and are you insured?

Yes, Yellowwood Building Group hold a current QBCC Builder Low-Rise licence and are covered by all required insurances.

3.

How will I be kept informed throughout the build process?

Throughout your build process you will receive weekly email updates from the Operations Manager detailing what has been achieved for the week gone and what the plan is for the week ahead. You can also arrange site inspections with a Yellowwood Building Group Team member when you would like to visit your new home during construction.

4.

How will the quality of my home’s construction be managed?

We have strict quality control measures in place for all of our work, a member of our management team will complete thorough checks throughout the build process ensuring each stage is fully completed to the highest possible standard before moving onto the next stage.

5.

When can you give me a definite price to build my home?

Once we have received soil test, engineering and completed your final selections your quote will then be ready to be turned into a fixed price contract.

6.

What happens if I want to change or upgrade once I sign?

This is no problem at all, we understand that people change their mind. If you need something changed simply contact us to explain what you would like and we can make it happen for you.

7.

Exactly what is included in my contract?

Before signing your Master Builders fixed price contract you will have received a detailed quote & specifications outlining exactly what is included in your build contract. It is important these documents are read very carefully in conjunction with your plans. If you have any questions about what is included you can always ask to speak to one of our team members.

8.

I am looking at renovating but have no idea where to start. Can you help?

Absolutely, It can be hard to visualise what is possible when renovating your home, we always recommend having an appointment with one of our team to discuss what your renovation options are.

9.

Can we use our own tradies and or suppliers?

Sometimes yes you can. As the principal contractor we are responsible for maintaining Work Place Health & Safety on our sites and any person carrying out work on the site during construction must be fully licenced and insured for the work being completed.

10.

Why are soil test and contour survey important?

Soil test and contour surveys tell us everything we need to know about your block of land, we are able to see what your soil type is and how much slope is on your block. This information allows us to accurately calculate all your site costs for your slab & earthworks.

11.

Can I visit my home under construction?

Yes absolutely you can. We do however ask that you only visit the site when accompanied by a member of our team due to Work Place Health & Safety Laws. Our team will ensure you get plenty of access to your home during construction.
